Sabancı Holding’s Corporate Venture Capital Fund, made its latest investment in hydrogen storage equipment manufacturer GRZ Technologies SA (GRZ).
As part of its new economy-oriented growth strategy, Sabancı Group considers green hydrogen as one of its priority investment areas and continues to be a part of disruptive innovations in this field.
According to the statement made by the company, this investment, which will contribute to Sabancı Group’s sustainability and zero emission goals, will also support the Group’s early stage positioning in the green hydrogen ecosystem.
Second investment in green hydrogen
Sabancı Ventures completed its first investment in the field of green hydrogen in recent months and announced its investment in Singapore-based SungreenH2. By investing in Europe-based GRZ after the Asia Pacific region, Sabancı Group has demonstrated its commitment to global growth in the field of green hydrogen and strengthened its “Sabancı of the World” vision with this investment. Having invested in various stages of the hydrogen value chain with different companies to date, Sabancı Group aims to create lasting value for the energy sector with its comprehensive solutions.
Commenting on the investment, Gokhan Eyigun, Group Head of Strategy and Business Development at Sabancı Holding, stated that they consider serving sustainable life, which is at the center of the Sabancı Group Promise, as their top priority investment criterion, and added: “Being a Group that pioneers the green hydrogen ecosystem and is positioned early in this ecosystem is one of the most important elements of our sustainability and new economy-oriented growth strategy. Today, many of our Group companies have realized important investments in this field. While these investments continue at full speed, simultaneously, through Sabancı Ventures, our Corporate Venture Capital Fund, we become the companion of equipment manufacturer startups in this field and accompany them on their global growth journey. This year, we have invested first in Singapore-based SungreenH2 and now in Switzerland-based GRZ, demonstrating our determination in this area. As the Sabancı of the World, we will continue to reinforce our vision of being the developer, not the customer, of the technologies of the future with new investments.”
Noris Gallandat, CEO of GRZ Technologies SA, said: “We are delighted and excited to enter into this strategic partnership with Sabancı. We are confident that this collaboration will take GRZ to the next level and create great opportunities for our technology. We believe that Sabanci is one of the right partners for our goals of expanding into new markets and commercializing our solutions.”
